My previous Malay neighbor is truly a real kindhearted man. He is a retiree school teacher. He has planted this 'Jambu Air' (Rose Apple) tree outside his house years ago. Along the main road - the kids were indeed quite happy whenever seeing the tree blossoms and bear fruits later. Usually they were allowed to harvest them freely. When I asked my friend why he was so generous? He said 'It's better to have the kids around Kampong here to have something to do, after all I can't eat them all...it was just like my old days - and it is nice to see them climbing up and down the tree like a monkey ...hehe ... well, I used to do that when I was a kid and it is a diminishing scene in a city life here in Kuala Lumpur..."

How nice to hear this, huh ?

August, it seems everything comes alive. Err.. may be minus the stock market *.

* As a matter of recalling the 1997's Asian Financial Crises: Well, shortly after this site has been uploaded in late August '98, Malaysia implemented the controversial but very effective Foreign Exchange Control Measures on the 1st of September 1998 to fence off constant attacks from currency traders on the our currency - Ringgit Malaysia (RM), the composite index, key indicator of the Stock market has rebounded more than 300% from its low ! I never knew I can be 'made' poorer and so much richer in such a high dramatic fashion within such short span of time. The old man at the FED, US that I respect so much concluded the whole episode happened in Asia was market 'driven', well I hope he is right, while the whole year in Asia was dominated by financial crises, the US was busied showing political soup opera(s) all year round, and now that the strongest economy in the world has become most poorer economies' ATM (Automatic Teller Machine), look like both the Dow and the US currency just has to go through a similar 'velocity' like what Asia has been through to improve competitiveness and the balance of payment ("... In the interest of the United States of America...". Well, I hope that can be a well engineered soft landing on the DOW, if not - some of us may just have to go back to commodity based economy - may be it is not a bad idea to accumulate some "Jambu Air' seeds here for sowing ... well, let me see if anyone can help to alter the genetic form of this crop first, so I can have a higher yield... ( X#@$%? !, you must be cursing..)
