Chuang Kim Siew was born in Hui An, China in 1929 but move to Malaysia and graduated
from
Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts of Singapore in 1955. Since then, he has held various
positions
including President, Association of Artists Klang; Vice-president, Malaysian Chinese
Cultural
Society; Treasurer, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Malaysian Alumni Society; South
East Asia
Advisor of International Arts and Cultural Exchange Society; Guest Lecturer, Malaysian
Institute of
Art; Committee Member: Eastern Arts Research Centre; Former Assistant Headmaster
of Hin Hua
Secondary School, Klang; Editor, Chinese Cultural Magazine. He has held solo / joint
art exhibitions
in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Klang, Xi An, Henan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Sarawak
and Taiwan.
He has also received various awards for outstanding performance. His works are popularly
received by all sectors of the Malaysian society and being kept by many collectors
worldwide.
