It was not known actually this particular
LEICA M6 T was made for. This M6 with Summilux-M 1.4/35mm Titanium Camera Set
has an interesting feature, i.e. it has a serial number. 1900000, presumably it was
produced in1993. It was surfaced in an Auction via L&H, Hong Kong. The auction
introduces it as " A round numbers of M6 Titanium (#1900000) with Summilux-M
1.4/35mm Titanium lens(#3600000) have never been seen among the special Edition cameras.
These special editions are usually commemorative sets made for special clients. For
example, Leica IIIf (#500000) dedicated to Ernst Leitz II; M3 (#700000) was produced
one year after M3 (#700001) and dedicated to Austrian Prof. Stefan Krukenhauser in
1955; M3 (#800000) dedicated to the World War II West German Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer
in 1956. In addition, these round numbers were assigned to particular camera models
as well. For example, (#3000000) was assigned to M7 Titanium Camera set to celebrate
the 50th Anniversary of the Leica M series. This set comes with wooden box, titanium
hood, front cap, camera body decorated with lizard skin leather, in brand new condition...and
HAMMER PRICE (included premium): HK$ 885,000-00". Well I guess only Leica could
traced whom it was produced for. If anyone of you has any info, please consider patch
this mysterious unit, TKS.
