Sankyo Koki K.K. was used to be among one of the more well known Japanese optical manufacturer appeared along with Seiko Kogaku, Nippon Kogaku K.K. period. They produced lenses in 39mm / 42mm and even in Contax / Exakta mounts. All their lenses used "KOMURA" as the trade name. For Enlarging lenses, a separate "CHIBANON" name was used. Sankyo Koki K.K. was seemingly quite contented to remain as contract manufacturer as well as marketing their own lenses for major labels, which including Nikon. The 8.5cm f/1.8 is one their classic representation of optical excellence of this relatively optical Company. Ser.
