Lantana originates from South America. They are nice looking, brilliance when blossom, but the leaves have a pungent smell that aims to fence off plant-eating animals that eat them. People who don't like this plant, infamously refer it as 'Bunga Tahi Ayam' (chicken droppings) locally. It is considered a poisonous plant in nature. But the leaves have its useful applications in traditional medicine control for the locals. They are used to mix as a solution in treating people that suffer from ulcers, small wounds and even for treating insect bites. On the other hand, butterflies and insects just love these flowers. Every sunny morning, it makes my garden comes alive.

Contradictory, it may sound.
But like any life form, it needs to defend itself at times for self survival
while at the same time, it needs companionship for a continual life cycles by giving in a little,
so, the smell provides a mild warning to intruders

I like and hate such concept.
