This UV Micro Nikkor 105mm f/4.5 lens is in like new condition, and comes in the
original box with all the accessories as shown. Here is a description from "The
Complete Nikon System" by Peter Braczko, a noted authority on Nikon: "This
special lens, with a reproduction ratio of 1:2, met the highest demands of ultraviolet
photography in such areas as crime laboratories, fine art examination, medical research,
and industrial product analysis. This distortion-free lens attained a 70% spectral
transmission level in the range of 220 to 900 nanometers. Its uncomplicated focusing
offered the advantage of being able to focus on images in the visible light spectrum
as well as those in the ultraviolet spectrum through the viewfinder without awkward
focus corrections. The lens is made of flourite and quartz glass, and like all micro
Nikkors, it's free of distortions. The camera's metering system can't always determine
the correct exposure, so test shots are advisable. The lens has a built-in, retractable
lens hood." The reserve on this lens is commensurate with the value. .."
