The Nikkor ultra wideangle lens is a lens belonged to the Superwide lens category in the Nikkor lens group. Optically, the lens employs a 15E/12G design. The lens is different from the 6mm, 8mm or the 10mm fisheye Nikkor lens group where it is a truly wideangle and thus, it reproduces straight lines accurately esp. at the center. It employs with CRC for close focus image correction with rear floating lens element to maintain high image quality even at its closest focusing distance where it reaches 0.3m (approx. 1 foot), NIC was also being treated in lens coating for anti flare and ghost image in backlit situation. 4 bayonet filters are provided for special effect or light and/or color correcting purposes. With its immensely generated depth of field and ultrawideangle picture coverage (118 degrees); the lens can generate unusual and creative use in many shooting situations for dramatic photographic effect.
