Reverses the functions of the two dials   0. Enables the Main Dial to set the shutter speed and the Quick Control Dial to set the aperture.
1
. Enables the Main Dial to set the aperture and the Quick Control Dial to set the shutter speed. (The Quick Control Dial's standard functions can be set by pressing the exposure compensation button and turning the Main Dial.)
Useful when the aperture setting is often used and when the aperture is frequently altered with the use of large studio flash units. Also, in the Manual Exposure mode, auto exposure bracketing proceeds with changes in the shutter speed. However, with CF4, the shots can be bracketed automatically with different aperture settings instead. AEB can therefore be used effectively in the studio with a studio flash.

<<---Beauty & the beasts at a public photo session, hehe... No-lah (a local tone) just kidding, personally, I do encourage these activities. Serious amateur user groups may also form as one of the largest pool of pro-calibre SLR camera bodies. Various gadgets in a camera are being experienced and tried out at leisure usage; In fact, over the years, I have seen many very high quality visual works resulting from these applications...

Electronic manual focusing.
(USM lens; Electronic ring manual focusing)
0: Enables full-time electronic manual focusing after One-Shot AF.
1
: Disables full-time electronic manual focusing after One-Shot AF
USM lenses equipped with electronic manual focusing capabilities enable manual focusing (without having to switch the focusing mode to Manual) after the autofocus is locked. When autofocusing is used, it is possible for the fingers to turn the electronic ring inadvertently, this will throw off the focus. This can be prevented by setting this Custom Function to 1. You can then hold the lens without worrying about turning the electronic ring while you shoot.

0: Automatic changeover Electronic ring manual becomes possible after completion of focusing for one-shot AF or after an NG operation 1: The above function is prohibited. * Lens side focusing mode switch changeover

: Sets Center-weighted Average Metering
Full-area metering. Evaluative metering can accurately set the proper exposure even under extreme lighting conditions. However, since it is automatic, it may not always set the exposure the way you want it. In such cases, setting this Custom Function to 1 enables Center-weighted Average Metering.

Disables AF focusing point superimposition.   0: Enables focusing point superimposition. 1: Disables focusing point superimposition.   The initial setting makes the focusing point flash red on the viewfinder screen when it achieves focus. This can be disabled. In still-life photography when the focusing changes little. Setting this Custom Function to I turns the flashing off. This function also works for manual focusing.

If the focusing point is set for automatic selection, spot metering will be linked only to the center focusing point. During manual focus, spot metering is linked to the manually-selected focusing point. You can thereby shift the spot metering area by changing the focusing point.

Flash output control/suppression control   0: Enables automatic reduction of the TTL auto flash exposure output. 1: Disables automatic reduction of the TTL auto flash exposure output.   For flash photography, the EOS-1N normally strives for a natural and balanced fill-in flash. Under bright conditions, it automatically reduces the flash output. In synchro-sunlight photography, fill-in flash may underexpose the subject. CF14 provides variations in automatic flash output reduction.
