The 1955 early M3 black paint w/matching black paint Collapsible Summicron-M
1:2 f=5cm featured earlier is followed by another rare Leica M3 Black Paint unit
shown below, it is a 1958 produce but more interesting is the inclusion of a black
frame counter.
M3 black paint single stroke, approx. Year: 1958
Equally a highly collectible Leica
M3 model from all perspectives. This is also a very rare, early black paint M3 body
which came with a black frame counter at usual position. Besides, this
camera is near mint, fully original condition, never repainted or restored. According
the Leicashop® is their auction literature, the camera came from a very small
batch of black paint cameras delivered to Sweden. S/N 91616x, approx. year of produce:
1958. This relatively clean M3 black with odd feature may not challenge the date
of production with the earlier 1955 unit, but it has a even higher start price in
Leicashop® conducted auction; fetching a good premium with Start
Price at EURO 7,000-00 and a hammer price of EURO 22, 800 (incl. premium)*.
* NOTE;- Indicative price(s) herein is/are based original
prices published on previous auction literature/references. Prices may vary according
to gradual yearly premium, supply/demand equations, and/or other renewed valuation
methods.
